Foraminal Stenosis

Foraminal stenosis, is a narrowing of the foraminal space (i.e. the space between the discs and joints of the spine that the nerves come out of) leading to nerve compression. While traditional medical interventions like medications, cortisone injections and surgery are often considered, chiropractic care offers a non-invasive and holistic approach to managing the symptoms of foraminal stenosis and helping to avoid a progression of degeneration in other segments of the spine.

In many cases, benefits can be accrued by improving the function of the joints above and below the stenosis.

This is beacuse unfortunately, where the damage is can be mistakenly labelled as the cause of the problem when the case may actually be the dysfunction of joints above and below! It is for this reason that working on areas other than where the damage is can make a huge difference.

While chiropractic care may not be able to reverse the underlying structural changes associated with foraminal stenosis, it can help alleviate pain, delay or avoid surgery, improve spinal function, and enhance overall quality of life for individuals living with this condition. If you are experiencing symptoms of foraminal stenosis, consider consulting with a qualified chiropractor to explore non-invasive treatment options tailored to your specific needs and preferences.
